Lawrence Phelps Recital Award
Help and encouragement for aspiring organists aged 16-21
A biennial award offering the winner two 90-minute lessons with distinguished international teacher and recitalist David Sanger, leading to a recital at the Abbey as part of the next Music in the Abbey series.
Applications are open to young players resident in, or studying in, the dioceses of Newcastle, Durham, Carlisle or Edinburgh. The minimum expected standard of applicants is Associated Board Grade 8 or equivalent.
The selection of the next award winner will be by competitive public audition at Hexham Abbey in early 2009. More details will be publicised and posted here nearer the time.
